PERMANENT EXTENSIONS

Permanent Extensions will last 3-4 months. After this time I recommend you have them removed as they become more difficult to maintain. They simply don't just fall out - they grow down with your hair. After 3-4 months, there can be a considerable gap between the bond and your scalp. Most people are scared of 'damage' when it comes to these techniques. The truth of the matter is -  it is often simply BAD PRESS. I challenge you to find a published story about how fabulous extensions can be!

Hair extensions will only damage your hair if you IGNORE the necessary aftercare considerations, or experience a poor quality application. I can guarantee the quality of both my innovative techniques and the products I use. I will never go ahead with any application unless you understand EVERYTHING completely. I believe in 'natural looking' extensions - a task which tends to be easier said than done if you don't know what you are doing!

That said, it's definitely not all bad. Permanent extensions will bring you much excitement and joy! Life with thickness, fullness and length - can actually bring you happiness. They also create a compulsion to constantly look in the mirror or any reflective surface!

Hair extensions completely change your life!

PRE BONDED

prebonded

Prebonded extensions are fabulous as they are quick and easy. The size and colour of the bond is already predetermined - which means they are the hairdressers dream! Prebonded is fabulous for building up panels of colour and spot highlights. This technique is available in an assortment of lengths and colours. The application involves gently heating the extension (no hotter than straightening irons!) and forming a bond by rolling with your fingers. A full head application will take approximately 3 hours.

TRADITIONAL FUSION

fusion

This technique is my personal favourite! It allows for maximum hair mobility, perfect colour blending - and the most natural looking result. I tend to recommend this technique for full head applications, as you can tailor ALL of the extensions accordingly. I also feel it can be more comfortable as you can distribute the weight more evenly. Carefully selected strands of hair are bonded using a synthetic adhesive* and a silicon rolling mat. This technique can take 3-4 hours to complete a full head. Again, an assortment of lengths, colours and textures are available.

This is the safest method for human hair. It is the ONLY method whereby you can control the weight of each extension. Each extension is made on the spot, tailored in size and weight to the section of hair it is to be attached to. Unlike pre bonded methods (whether attached by fusion, microlinks, shrinkies etc) this method adapts to your hair during the application time as well.  Shedding is an essential part of this method (though not excessive!). Each bond is able to release hair, as the extension becomes attached to less of your own hair (due to natural shedding! did you know your scalp sheds 50-100 strands of hair per day??) Your hair extensions SHOULD NOT weigh the same after 3 months, as they did in the beginning! This is simply because they are attached to less of your own hair - if they weighed the same, your hair would more than likely snap!

*Let me explain just what a synthetic adhesive is! Synthetic adhesive is polyamide (a type of plastic). Some suppliers call it 'glue' or 'keratin'. Keratin is the fancy name for protein. As ALL bonding materials contain polyamide in some form ( 5% or 20% or 99%!) IT IS ACTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE THAT BONDS CAN BE PROTEIN OR KERATIN! Keratin denotes that its created naturally. All bonding materials used for extensions are created in a laboratory somewhere - hence making them synthetic. 'Keratin' or 'protein' bonds are simply 'cutstomer friendly' terminology to market the adhesives. Don't believe everything you read! At the end of the day, don't be misled about one type of bonding material being better for your hair than another. At the end of the day, all you need to ensure is that the bonds do not go 'soggy' or that they aren't too big.
